Molly & Mark | Iowa Wedding Photographer

Congratulations Molly & Mark!

Saturday I had a great day shooting Molly and Mark's wonderful wedding in Oskaloosa, Iowa. We had a great time goofing around as the guys got ready and putting the final touches on Molly's dress. (The guys had clipped ties, but I still had the chance to repeat the usual photographer-side-job as apparently a windsor knot is great for tying off wedding dress lacing; who knew?) Molly and Mark had a beautiful first look overlooking the fields North of Osky then spent time with family and friends for the formal portraits. The wedding was gorgeous and personal. The reception was a blast including great food, lots of friends and family, and the late arrival of a deputy sheriff who put Molly in cuffs (but didn't take her away).

Congrats and best wishes for your new life together! Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your wonderful day!

Roz & Mark | Duluth, Minnesota Wedding Photographer

I spent Labor Day weekend shooting and enjoy Roz & Mark's incredible wedding at Gooseberry Falls outside of Duluth. (You can see all the images here..) Roz's wedding is the second I've shot for one of my four sisters (Linsay was married last year, Molly's next September, and Hannah's still far too young). One of my favorite aspects of wedding photography is being an intimate part of each couples' perfect day, and the feeling is multiplied when it's family. This wedding was double trouble as the officiant, Isaac, was also a brother. At one point I had to clarify that I was the brother taking the photos, not the one performing the ceremony. What could be better?

Roz & Mark's wedding was a roller coaster with rain threatening all weekend and making a brief appearance during the formal portraits.

Luckily it blew over quickly and gave way to a gorgeous mix of Sun and clouds over Lake Superior for the family portraits and beautiful ceremony. I've shot more weddings on this lake than anywhere else, and it never gets old. (Come to think of it, Kate and I had both of our weddings on the lake, as well. One on either side of my trip to Iraq.)

The roller coaster continued as Mark's sister gave birth to the newest member of the family, Cecelia, at 6am the morning after the wedding!

Roz & Mark put together an incredibly intimate wedding weekend for everyone and I'm so glad I had the chance to share it with them.

Congratulations!
